New Delhi July 31: A truth has emerged recently. A book "Daughter of Empire: Life as a Mountbatten" written by Pamela Hicks nee Mountbatten has been recently published in India.Pamela is the daughter of Edwina Mountbatten.
The Author has written some interesting facts
* Jawaharlal Nehru Indias First PM and Edwina Mountbatten wife of Lord Louis Mountbatten country's last Viceroy deeply loved and respected each other however they didn't have any physical relationship.
* Pamela in her book has claimed that her mother and Nehru shared a profound relationship.
* She has also written that she has come to this conclusion after she has read the letters written by her mother and PM Nehru.
*Author claimed that they were always surrounded by security personnel so they couldn't meet regularly.
*Edwina has gifted a jewel to Indira Gandhi because Nehru wouldn't accept ring as a gift.
* Finally, Nehru had addressed her mother during the farewell and said the following words. "Wherever you have gone, you have brought solace, you have brought hope and encouragement".
