Modi about GST in Mann ki Baat

New Delhi July 30: Indian Prime minister has delivered a speech today.
PM Modi has addressed the nation in his monthly radio program
Mann ki Baat. He spoke about a variety of issues such as floods in the country, Indian women cricket team perfomance but he has mainly focused on GST.

He has said that "Goods and services Tax has transformed the economy and it marks an example of cooperative federalism because all 29 states and 2 union territories were involved in all the decisions related to the new indirect tax regime".

PM has also "thanked people for the smooth transition of such a huge measure in a vast country involving crores of people and it can be a case study for universities around the world".

He has also said that GST has reduced the prices of essential items consumed by poor. Modi has said that "Good and Simple Tax, has really made a very positive impact on our economy and it ushered a new culture in such a short span of time".

PM has also said that "GST has impacted upon the transport and logistics sector and the movement of trucks has increased and their travel time has decreased".

Finally, he urged the people to share their thoughts about Indias Upcoming Independence day on August 15.
