Harish Rao about Mid Manair project

Hyderabad, July 29: Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao has ordered the officials to complete the Mid-Manair project works initiated by the aim of providing irrigation to 80000 acres.

The government released Rs 45 crore on Friday for compensation and rehabilitation to the affected people in the project.

The Minister reviewed the work on this occasion. Asked about the compensation payments so far to the detainees.

The rest of the payment process should be speeded up.

The government had already spent over Rs 1375 crores for land acquisition as well as rehabilitation of the displaced families after putting the implementation of the project on fast track. The government had assured fair compensation to the farmers, who all had to part with their land as part of the land acquisition process.

The Minister has directed the project authorities to pay Rs 2 lakh each immediately to the families that had to abandon their houses well before the water storage was built up to meet the irrigation needs in the command area. He has been closely monitoring the R and R works to ensure the proper rehabilitation of the affected families.
