Nawaz Sharif resigns as Pakistan prime minister

Islamabad, July 28: Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigned from his post. In the 1990s, when the prime minister was accused of massive corruption and allegedly raising assets in London, the Pak Supreme Court convicted Sherif.

Court has ordered a criminal case against Sharif. They ordered Sharif to step down immediately from the post of prime minister.

Sherif resigned on this background.



"He is no more eligible to be an honest member of the parliament and he ceases to be holding the office of prime minister," Judge Ejaz Afzal Khan said in court.

Nawaz is planning to his brother Shahbaz Sharif as next PM, who is currently Chief Minister of Punjab Pravins

Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif is also in the prime minister's race.
