Indian Army well prepared for war :Arun jaitley

New Delhi July 26: An issue was Clarified yesterday.Defence Minister Arun Jaitley yesterday has spoken about India's defense preparedness in Rajya Sabha.Minister has said that "The Armed Forces were reasonably and sufficiently equipped to defend the sovereignty of the country,"

He has responded to the concerns raised by parliamentarians regarding a CAG report that the Army had a critical shortage of ammunition and they have called Former Minister Manohar parrikar as Non-Performer.



Earlier CAG in its report submitted to Parliament has said that the " Army faces a shortfall of 40% ammunition and only 61 out of 152 types of ammunition were available and the stocks would not be sufficient for 40 days of an intense war".

Mr. Jaitley clarified that the CAG report had reference to the shortage of ammunition in relation to a point of time and the situation has improved and would improve more significantly in coming days.
