"Vande Mataram" must be played once a week :Madras HC

Chennai July 25: An order was passed today.The Madras High Court on Tuesday has ordered that "Vande Mataram" the national song must be played and sung in all educational institutions such as schools, colleges, and universities at least once a week.

The Court has said that educational institutes can prefer Mondays or Fridays. The order was passed during the hearing of a writ petition filed by K. Veeramani.

Judges have said that "Patriotism is an essential requirement for every citizen of this country and India our Motherland should always be remembered by every citizen of this country."

The court has said that this order is applicable to institutes such as all government offices and institutions, private companies, factories, and industries at least once a month.

The court has also said that Song must be made available in Tamil as well as English and must be made available in social media also.
