School students caught in Hookah Center

Karimnagar, July 23: As we know that recently Telangana Excise Department found that many students from top international schools and colleges in Hyderabad have been identified as regular customers of the drug racket.

Here in another shocking incident, The Karimnagar rural police have detained five students while smoking hookah at Bommakal locality in the outskirts of the town on Friday evening.

While coming to details, The students have formed a group with some others and purchased a hookah pot, police said. The students, aged 12 to 14 are of Class IX of an international school located in Mukarampura of the town.

Based on a tip off, police on Friday followed the students and detained them while having a hookah in an isolated place near Bommakal. After noticing the cops, they tried to escape from the spot but police managed to detain a student.

Later, remaining four were also taken into custody. Hookah machine and tobacco sachets were seized from them.

Police informed the matter to the parents of the children. The police released the students after giving counseling.

Childrens' parents were counseled as well. When contracted, Karimnagar Rural CI Shashidhar Reddy said, "No case was registered against students. They were let off by giving counseling."
