Kerala MLA accused in woman abusing case

Thiruvananthapuram, July 20: Here a woman has attempted to commit suicide at Kovalam in Kerala here on Wednesday.

The Kerala Police has registered a case against a sitting MLA of Kovalam who allegedly misbehaved with a lady.

State Police Chief has entrusted Kollam City Police Commissioner Ajeetha Beegum to lead the investigation considering the seriousness of the allegation that the Kovalam MLA M Vincent sexually harassed the woman over the phone.

The issue came to light when the 51-year-old woman was admitted to a private hospital in Neyyatinkara after her suicide attempt.

Following a complaint from the husband of the woman, the MLA was booked under Sections 294 (b) (use of obscene language) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC.
