AP Cabinet approved to launch Drinking Supply Corporation

Amaravati, July 19: The Andhra Pradesh government had declared to launch the AP Drinking Supply Corporation to supply the protected drinking water for the people, which was announced in the AP cabinet meeting here on Tuesday.

The corporation would supply 100 liters of protected drinking water to every family apart from monitoring the supply of drinking water for gram panchayats, urban local bodies, and industries.

The corporation would mobilize resources and funds for maintenance from different sources.

The cabinet resolved to constitute a four-member committee in every district to monitor sand mining. The committee would decide on the loading and unloading charges as well as transportation charges which the beneficiary would have to pay.

The cabinet authorized the district-level committees to take action against those who collect more money than the prescribed amount.

The cabinet wanted 231 posts to be filled in social welfare, BC welfare, industries and commerce departments and gave its approval for Rs 19.55 crore for the same.
