AP CM urged to close the belt shops form today onwards

Amaravati, July 19: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday has passed orders to the Excise department on the closure of belt shops across the state starting from Wednesday.

The Opposition parties in the state have been questioning the TDP government for not being able to control it even after three years of governance.

The Cabinet has also discussed the possibility of allowing only license number or shop number instead of names for shops.

The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held in Amaravati. Also, Special committees are set to be appointed in order to curb irregularities in mining and transportation of sand.

The state government has approved regarding setting up Drinking Water Corporation to overcome water crisis in villages and disburse pension amount of Rs 2,500 per month to kidney patients.
