Government caps Weight of school bags

Hyderabad, Telangana July 19: A good news for school Children. The Telangana government yesterday has issued strict guidelines on the weight of the bags carried by school Children.

Sources say that a cap on the weight will ensure that school children don't face physical problems such as back pain and anxiety disorders in early ages.

Currently, there are no guidelines for regulating weight children and it varies in different schools and many parents have demanded that rules must be framed. According to the order issued by government the maximum weight limit of school bags for students from primary to Class X are as follows

* 1.5 kg for Class 1 and II

* 2 to 3 kg for Classes III to V.

* 4 kg for class VI and VII

* 4.5 KG for Classes VIII and IX

* 5 KG for Class X

The government has also said that there shall not be any homework for primary grade children from Classes I to V.

Finally, many people have Expressed their gratitude for CM KCR for making sure that a cap has been issued and urged him to make sure that these rules are strictly implemented.
