Governor dismisses Nagaland government, Zeliang to be sworn in

Kohima, July 19: Nagaland Governor P.B. Acharya on Wednesday dismissed the five-month-old government of Shürhozelie Liezietsu after he failed to prove his majority in the Assembly,Nagaland Chief Minister Shurhozelie Liezietsu on Wednesday failed to turn up at the state assembly for the floor test, even as 47 legislators supporting the return of T.R. Zeliang as Chief Minister were present in the House.
a Raj Bhavan official said.



The official told that the Governor has invited veteran Naga People's Front (NPF) legislator T.R. Zeliang to form a new government.

Zeliang, who will take oath as Chief Minister at Raj Bhavan, has been directed to prove his majority on the floor of the House on or before July 22.
