AP CM supports Vice-Presidential candidate Venkaiah Naidu

New Delhi, July 18: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's support to the post of Vice-President candidature as M. Venkaiah Naidu.

In a brief telephonic conservation on Monday night, Mr. Modi conveyed his party's decision to propose Mr. Venkaiah Naidu for the coveted post, to Mr. Chandrababu Naidu and appealed to him to take up the responsibility of securing the victory of the NDA candidate.

Earlier, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Mr. Venkaiah Naidu and said he was an experienced leader and fit for that high post.

The 68-year old Venkaiah Naidu will file nomination papers at 11 am on Tuesday.

The Opposition has fielded Gopalakrishna Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, as its Vice-presidential candidate. Gandhi is a retired IAS officer and former Governor of West Bengal state.
