Students protest in Osmania University

Hyderabad, July 16: A protest took place yesterday. Osmania Students and non-boarders have protested yesterday. Earlier the Administration has cut off the water supply and power in order to vacate the hostels.

The officers had earlier issued the several instructions for non-boarders to vacate the premises. The students have demanded the Vice-Chancellor to restore of the supplies to the hostels.

Sources say that E1, E2, C -hostels have been cut supplies. Officials say that 4,000 students are residing as non-boarders and they have said that even several families were living in quarters for past several years.

They have also said that all the hostels are fully occupied and it is difficult for us to accommodate new students and also repair the age old hostels.

However, Non-boarders argued that they would vacate the hostel provided one more month of time because this would adversely affect their preparation for upcoming entrance tests. Borders have argued that we are being harassed for no reason and supplies must be restored. Finally, officials have taken police support to vacate the non-boarders.
