AP Minister Ayyana submitted evidence for Vizag land scam

Vishakapatnam, July 15: The Andhra Pradesh Minister for Roads and buildings Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu has submitted an evidence report to the probe team SIT over the Visakhapatnam land scam here on Friday.

The Minister said that influential land-grabbers had fraudulently created documents pertaining to government lands and mortgaged the same to various public sector banks to raise over Rs. 190 crores.

"I have submitted my version to the SIT and I have full faith that it will come out with a good report. The SIT is headed by Vineet Brijlal (DIG- Greyhounds) and he has a good track record. I know him since his stint as ASP, Narsipatnam," said Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu.

The Minister also suspected that over 1,700 acres of land, including private and government, were under encroachment in Visakhapatnam district.

It was Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu who had publicly aired his views on the land scam and suspected the role of a few local TDP leaders in it.

This had resulted in a rift between him and HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who went to the extent of writing a letter to the Chief Minister on Mr. Ayyanna Patrudus "open outbursts."
