Solar train launched by Indian Railways

New Delhi, July 14: A new train was launched today. Indian Railways on July 14 has unveiled its first solar Diesel Multiple Unit (DEMU) Train.

* The train has an engine capacity of 1600 HP.

* The train coach was manufactured at Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai.

* The life span of the train is 25 years.

* The train has a capacity of 89 people per coach.

* The operations of this train would commence from July 15.

* The train contains two motor coaches and eight passenger coaches.

* The total cost of the train is Rs 13.54 crore.

* Cushioned seats and display boards have been provided in each coach.

* The train will travel from Delhi's Sarai Rohilla to Garhi Harsaru Junction in Haryana.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has said that we have launched this train as promised in budget 2016.
