Policy changes in states for food industries

New Delhi, July 14: A policy change will soon take place. Union Food Processing ministry has written to all states to change some of the state policies so that food processing sector gets a boost. some of the suggestions made are

* The Land usage policy must be changed as part of agriculture, for setting up the food processing units, especially small and micro facilities.

* Seasonal industry status must be provided so that industries have the flexibility to hire more labor and reduce operational costs.

Officials say that the above changes would help the industry as well as farmers because fruits and vegetables are grown by farmers are seasonal so it would be better to give the industry a seasonal status.

They have also said that we have received a good response from states and they would soon make changes in the policy as suggested. Let's hope that new policy creates more employment to the people.
