Harish Rao inaugaurates Borancha Pochamma Lift Irrigation project

Borancha Telangana July 13: A good news for Telangana farmers.Telangana Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Wednesday has inaugurated the Borancha Pochamma Lift Irrigation (LI) Scheme.

The Lift Irrigation scheme is located on the foreshore of the Singoor project in Manoor mandal. sources say that this project has been pending for more than a decade. Engineers say that under this project

* The water will be lifted from backwaters of the Singoor project.

* 2,900 acres spread in Borancha, Lingampally, Thatipally, and Sindhole will be irrigated by this project.

* The total project amounts to 69,712 per acre.

* Water will be pumped for 42.77 meters in 1 phase, 56.71 meters in the 2nd phase.

Minister has said that this project was conceived in 2009 but neglected by earlier governments because funds were not released. He has also said that many more irrigation projects would be soon completed so that singoor waters can be fully utilized.
