SC to decide on speakers role?

Delhi July 12: A question was posed yesterday. The Supreme Court yesterday has posed a question to the central government. The court has asked, " whether a decision taken by the Speaker of the House can be subjected to judicial review or not?".

The apex court has made this remark while it was hearing a petition relating to a trust vote held on February 18 in Tamilnadu Assembly.The petition was filed by AIADMK MLA K Pandiarajan a close aide of O Paneerselvam.

Earlier the Cheif Minister Palaniswamy has won the trust vote in the assembly. The government's lawyer Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar has sought time to file written submissions in the matter.

The bench has fixed August 9 as next date for the hearing. Let's wait for courts decision to get a clarity.
