Shocking news for Kite fliers

Mumbai July 12: A shocking news for Kite fliers. National Green Tribunal NGT yesterday has banned synthetic and nylon Manja.The bench has passed an order on this issue. Currently, Nylon Manja also known as Chinese manja, are used for flying kites.

However, a relief was given keeping in view of the traditional importance of kite flying during festivals the bench has exempted manja prepared using cotton thread.

The natural manja is prepared by coating a degradable material to cotton thread. NGT gave the above order while hearing a petition filed by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India in August 2016.

Finally, PETA has hailed the decision and said that it would save millions of children's lives.
