Harish Rao reviewed on Water Resources Information Systems

Hyderabad, July 11: The Telangana Irrigation Minister T.Harish Rao has conducted a review meeting on Monday observed the progress of geospatial database, the Telangana Water Resources Information Systems.

He also reviewed the preparations being done by the Irrigation and Command Area Development Department in association with National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The GIS team demonstrated 55 projects which had been digitized so far.

The digitized data included the command boundary, entire canal network up to sub-minor level, distributary-wise or WUA-wise boundary within the command area, for the 55 major and medium irrigation projects. 8,177 canals covering a length of 22,784 km have also been digitized.

The cropping pattern in the last Kharif and Rabi seasons under all projects was analyzed using the satellite imagery.
