Ola Cab driver kidnapped a student and demands Rs.5 Crores

New Delhi, July 9: The Delhi-based Ola cab driver had kidnaped a medical student Ola cab in New Delhi here on Friday night. The kidnapper has demanded Rs. 5 crore ransom from the cab owner and Ola Company management to release the student.

While coming to details, The victim identified as Akkala Srikanth Goud (29) of Gadwal in Jogulamba Gadwal district. Srikanth, the only son of Janardhan Goud and Bharathamma, completed MBBS in China and was pursuing post-graduation in New Delhi.

Here On Friday, after completing his duties, Srikanth along with another friend Hemanth went to have dinner at Preet Vihar in his friend's car. After having dinner, Srikanth booked an Ola cab to go to his room, which is about 15 km away.

"On Saturday when Srikanth did not attend classes, one of his friends rang up to him, but there was no response as it was switched off. Worried about his whereabouts, Hemanth lodged a complaint with Preet Vihar police.

Based on the complaint, a missing case has been registered by Police.

During the investigation, police found that Srikanth was kidnapped by Ola cab driver. "We want to rescue him from the kidnapper. We do not want to take any risk that may alter the outcome of the incident. The spot has been identified and hopefully, the kidnapped doctor will be rescued by Saturday night," Preet Vihar ACP Amit Kumar said.

It is learned that when Srikanth's friends approached the cab owner, they were told that the driver has called him demanding a ransom of Rs. 5 crores to release the doctor. However, the ACP denied the reports.

Srikanth's friends immediately informed his parents, who live in Gadwal about the kidnap on Saturday afternoon.
