Beef detection kits in Maharastra

Mumbai, India July 9: A state police will get new kits soon. Maharashtra Police would soon get beef detection kits developed by the forensic lab in the state.

Officials say "each kit designed has a capability to test at least 100 samples and results would be available in 30 minutes. They have also said that the positive report obtained would be further confirmed through DNA process.

Experts feel that this kit would help the traders because their meat samples would not be seized because of on the spot results available. Currently, there is a beef ban in Maharastra because a state Assembly has passed an act for banning the cow meat in the state.

Let's hope that the police uses this kit judiciously so that people are not harassed.
