Bonalu Holiday on July 17

Hyderabad, July 07: Here is the good news for the government employees as Modifying its previous order, the State government has been decided to change the General Holiday on the occasion of Bonalu to July 17 instead of July 10, here on Thursday.

Coming to details, In partial modification of the order issued on November 22, 2016, notifying the General Holidays and Optional Holidays, the State government on Thursday declared July 17 as General Holiday on the occasion of 'Bonalu', instead of July 10.

As a result, July 10 (Monday) will be a working day.

Chief Secretary SP Singh has issued orders stating that the public holiday will be observed on July 17 instead of Monday, July 10, as was declared earlier.

The State Art Gallery, Madhapur, is celebrating the ongoing Bonalu celebrations by hosting an exclusive photography exhibition, which is centered on the festival's theme and documents the celebrations across Hyderabad.

On Thursday, Department of Tourism Secretary Burra Venkatesham inaugurated the special theme-based Bonalu exhibition, in which over 200 photographs are being showcased.

Adding Bonalu festivities to the inaugural function, the Tourism Department roped-in artists who acted as 'Potharaju' and performed to the beats of ‘Dappu’.
