ISIS Sympathizer Omar had links with 5000 members: SIT

Hyderabad, July 7: As we know that, An ISIS sympathizer Omar alias Konakalla Subramanyam had been arrested by the Hyderabad police for spreading about ISIS, who converted and became Omer and was recently arrested on charges of being an ISIS sympathizer.

The Police officials appointed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Central Crime Station (CCS) during his six-day police custody that concluded on Thursday.

Officials revealed that Omer also took shelter in another person's house in the city. During the custody, Omer is said to have told the police that he tried to attract several people towards ISIS through social media.He had links with around 5000 members through social media.

On June 23, the SIT nabbed him and seized a mobile phone, which contained an incriminating conversation with ISIS sympathizers.

After embracing Islam in 2014, Omer visited Gujarat and trained in religious rituals and scriptures. He also visited Srinagar, Mumbai, and Ambur in Tamil Nadu, according to the official.
