Woman brutally gang raped in Auto-Rickshaw

Hyderabad, July 4: Here a horrific incident has unveiled, while a 30 yrs old woman was allegedly raped in an auto-rickshaw by three unidentified men, including the auto driver at Chintalmet here on Monday.

The incident occurred on Friday night but came to light on Monday when the woman lodged a complaint with the police.

Police said the woman had gone to her relative's house in Rajendranagar and was returning to her home in Jiyaguda.

On the way back, she consumed toddy and reached the bus stop in Rajendranagar around 8 pm and boarded a seven-seater auto. She asked the driver to drop her at Moghal-ka-Nala X Roads in Karwan. Apart from her, there were two other passengers in the vehicle, police said.

The auto driver, as per the woman's version, changed the route in between and took the vehicle towards Chintalmet, saying he was taking a shortcut.

"Believing in him, she sat quiet but when he took the vehicle to an isolated area, she sensed trouble and began shouting," police said, adding that the driver and the other two men then raped her.

Based on her complaint, a case was registered and the woman was sent for a medical examination.

The CCTV footage is being examined to identify the suspects and further investigation is on.
