GHMC encourages to plant the medicinal saplings

Hyderabad, July 2: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy has asked the government to give the permission to submit the details of lands, Vacant plots into the website of GHMC to avert land disputes dogging the citizens.

He pointed out that most complaints reach the municipal corporation or the revenue authorities of the district collectorates of Hyderabad and Rangareddy.

This is because the land records are not being properly maintained or updated leading to many a property dispute.

Hence, it is being proposed to list out ownership details of the lands online with government approval.

For the forthcoming 'Haritha Haaram', he suggested that various department heads should entrust their respective employees the responsibility to plant saplings on all the empty plots within their offices.

Mr. Reddy informed that of the 1.15 lakh being planned to be taken up for plantation, a majority of them will be medicinal plants.

About 20 lakh saplings of the families of Tulasi, Aloe Vera, Lemongrass, Lime, and others are going to be distributed through the nurseries belonging to the GHMC and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

The civic body has 45 lakh saplings ready for the program with the HMDA going to provide 70 lakh more.
