Railway employees to get new uniforms

NewDelhi July 3: A good news from Indian Railways. The employees of national rail transporter will get new uniforms from October. The uniform is being designed by famous fashion Designer Ritu Beri.500,000 railway employees comprising following will be benefitted with new uniforms

* Onboard staff
* TTEs
* Station Masters
* Guards
* Drivers
* Catering Personnel
* Technical staff in workshops and production units

# front office staff will wear a uniform designed which consists of half and full sleeve T-shirts in black and yellow combinations with the Indian Railway logo embossed.

# catering staff will be given a uniform of T-shirts in white with black border.

# TTEs, guards and drivers will wear half-fluorescent jackets yellow and green.

This move is the fulfillment of a promise made in Rail Budget by Minister Suresh Prabhu in his 2016-17. He had said that "the uniforms of all customer-facing roles will be refurbished to clearly distinguished them on our network."

Finally, railways are examining the designs and the final decision would be taken very shortly.
