AP CM inaugurated Vana Mahotsavam

Andhra Pradesh, Krishna, July 2: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday launched a Vana Mahotsavam and several developmental works at Pedaparupudi in Krishna District here on Saturday.

Mr. Naidu pledged all the necessary support from the government to develop Pedaparupudi village as India's smart village by the end of 2018.

Mr. Naidu planted saplings before inspecting the developmental works made by Ramoji Foundation here as part of village adaptation initiative.

“A target has been set to get 'smart village tag for Pedaparupudi. The smart village will have to be equipped with a skill development center for all walks of village life, apart from access to technology in schools,” he said.

He sanctioned a Public Health Centre for the village and said he would examine the possibilities to upgrade it with emergency services.

The Chief Minister thanked Ramoji Foundation and Ramoji Rao for adopting Pedaparupudi village, where the foundation had spent Rs 8.35 crore to ensure better access to water, health, and education in addition to the renovation of various government buildings.

Mr. Naidu said solid waste management activities should be encouraged at the village level.

He appealed to the people to cooperate with the individuals and organizations that had adopted villages across the State to bring changes through the adaptation program.

Ramoji Foundation Managing Director Ch. Kiran promised to develop the village pond and a list of projects within a year, in collaboration with the villagers.
