Rooftop Rain harvesting initiates in Kakinada

Andhra Pradesh, Kakinada, July 1: As we know that, the Summer season has created records with raise of higher temperatures.According to believed reports, The Monsoon will also lash with heavy rains.

In a bid to save the water, The East Godavari DWMA project director G Raja Kumari taken as initiate that the rooftop rainwater harvesting structures will be taken up in a big way to restore the depleting groundwater resources.

She said that these rooftop structures will be taken under MGNEGS program soon and will be completed in phased manner.

As part of implementation of this programme, all government buildings, structures, offices, educational institutions will be covered with the rooftop rainwater harvesting structures on par with water soak pits to absorb the rainwater.

DWMA will spend Rs 60,000 on each of these structures which will be on a permanent basis.
