Hyderabad, June 30: We all knew that The Transport Department has been taken essential steps to stop the Raod accidents.Many of the people have died in accidents.

Here, Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy said that The provision of cancellation of driving licenses of motorists who cross the '12-point' limit will soon come into effect in the city.

The Commissioner revealed this while addressing a meeting with school managements, parents and students on road safety here on Thursday.

As soon as 12 points are accumulated by the motorists for violations, the license will be automatically canceled for a year. This is part of the efforts to make a city a safe driving place and reduce accidents.

He said that about 7,100 die due to road accidents in Telangana every year and some stringent measures like the cancellation of licenses, infusing discipline and creating awareness can bring the figure down. He also said that the challans pending against the motorists will reflect soon in the M-wallet App of the Transport Department.
