Nara Lokesh sought Centre about Indian BPO scheme

New Delhi, June 28: The Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, who is in Delhi's visit, met Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad here on Wednesday.

In the meeting, Nara Lokesh has explained about the electronics manufacturing sector in Andhra Pradesh and has taken measures to improve IT development.

The Central Govt has already allocated 4,500 seats to AP under the Indian BPO scheme and he has been requested to allocate another 2700 seats.

The BPO scheme will be used to create jobs for the local youth and requested the approval of electronics manufacturing clusters in Chittoor, Anantapur and Visakhapatnam districts of the state.

The Minister Lokesh appealed to the Central Govt to establish the Center of Excellence for Cyber Security, International Institute of Digital Technology.

Electronics and IT Sector have sought central assistance to the state.The Union Ministry has responded positively.
