Toxic foam spreads in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, India June 27: The water pollution in Hyderabad is increasing these days. A toxic foam from the Rama Krishna Puram Lake canal in the city has overflown today and the dangerous foam has spread to surrounding areas.

The foam from the river was spotted by the residents who were traveling in nearby areas of the lake. Recently a similar incident has happened in Bengaluru where Bellandur and Varthur lakes have also run down the streets and roads spreading toxic foam similar to clouds.

Sources say that the RK Puram lake is located in Alwal catchment area. Currently, many people reside nearby the lake and they use the lake water as the main source of drinking water after they filter it.

Officials say that the main reason for generation of foam is the mixing of chemical waste disposal, animal, human waste dumping in the lake. Finally, many people have raised their voice and are demanding strict action to be taken against government officials.

Let's hope that the government reacts and make sure that these incidents don't happen again so that people's lives will be protected.
