Siddipet, June 27: Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has been angered on the Central Govt ahead of the cash crunch in the State.

He said in a meeting that, farming community was at receiving end due to lack of cash availability in banks, Rao said that the farmers in Telangana badly need cash to purchase not only fertilizers, and also pay wages to laborers since the agriculture operations were in full swing across the State.

He also demanded the Centre to exempt fertilizers from GST (Goods Services Tax) to free the farmers from a burden.

He was speaking to presspersons after inaugurating the new DCCB Bhavan in Siddipet town on Monday.

The Minister had appealed to Union Minister’s M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya to take the cash crunch issue in Telangana to the notice of Prime Minister.

Stating that farmers were finding it difficult to pay the amount after purchasing paddy, the Minister said that farmers were staging protests before banks demanding cash.

He urged the Union Ministers to immediately send Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 crore currency to Telangana as immediate measure considering the gravity of the situation.

Earlier, The Central Govt has announced the Note ban on November 8, 2016, the historic decision by the Modi, but from this issue, many of the people have been suffered to get the liquid cash, still, the problem is continuing.

From this aspect, govt should solve the farmer's issue as soon as possible
