Udupi Krishna Matt organizes Iftar for Muslims

Udupi, India June 26: A rare event has taken place. Udupi's famous Krishna temple/mutt has organized an Iftar for Muslims who broke their Ramzan fast. The Muslims have participated in 'Souharda Upahara Koota' held at the Ann Abraham Dining Hall in the temple complex on June 24.

Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt has to lead the event. Currently, he is in the fifth Paryaya. Food items such as banana, watermelon, apple, dates, and cashew nut along with kashaya' made of black pepper were served to people.

The temple priests have greeted the Muslims on the eve of Eid and said Hindus and Muslims should both live together in harmony. Finally, the Muslims have expressed their gratitude for temple organizers for having served them iftar dinner and they also said that we will make our efforts to maintain the cultural harmony.

Let's hope that the temple becomes an inspiration so that the society stays unified and peace prevails.
