IMA issues guidelines on Alcohol consumption

NewDelhi, June 26: An organization has issued guidelines. Indian Medical Association (IMA) has recently issued guidelines to doctors.The association has said that doctors are the brand ambassadors of health” for the society. It has asked its members and other doctors to avoid drinking with people who are not doctors.

The guidelines of IMA are as follows

* 18 ml for male and 9 ml for female doctors are considered as safe
limits for consumption of Alcohol.

* Alcohol should not be served at IMA meetings.

* Doctors have a responsibility to follow a healthy lifestyle
before they reach patients on consumption of Alcohol.

* All physicians must uphold the dignity and honor of the profession.

* Doctors must start saying 'thank you' to their patients.

Let's hope that doctors follow the above guidelines so that the society can change.
