ISRO to help Indian Railways

New Delhi, June 26: A government organization will soon help another organization. The Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO) has developed satellite-based chip systems for Indian Railways.

The system developed will be useful for giving alerts to road users at unmanned level crossings about upcoming trains. The system will also help in tracking the train movement on a real-time basis.

The Space Organisation has said the chip will be activated when the train is 500 meters far before the level crossings and a warning will be issued to the users who want to cross the road on the level crossing.

They have also said that a Hooter will be placed near the crossings and it will be functioning on the Integrated Circuit it contains and it makes a louder sound as the train approaches the level crossing nears.

Railway officials have said that such systems will be places in the Mumbai and Guwahati Rajdhani trains as a pilot project. The officials say that based on the success of this system the Hooters will be introduced in all trains as well. Lets hope that the system works well so that people are safe at railway crossings.
