SBI chairperson Bhattacharya paid less

New Delhi June, 26: A top government official salary was disclosed yesterday. The salary of SBI top leader was revealed yesterday. State Bank of India Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya has received Rs 28.96 lakh salary in last year.

Experts have said that her salary is very low as compared to CEOs salary of other private banks. the salaries of few private banks are as follows.

* ICICI Bank MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar has taken home a total of Rs 7.29 crores in last fiscal year.

* Axis Bank CEO and MD Shikha Sharma has received RS 5 crore last year including HRA and allowances.

* Yes Bank MD and CEO Rana Kapoor, has received Rs 6.8 crore as salary in 2016-17.

* HDFC Bank’s MD Aditya Puri has taken home Rs 10 crore last year.

Experts say that Public sector banks employees are paid less compared to private banks. Earlier the Former RBI Raghuram Rajan had raised this issue with the government but he failed in getting the salaries hiked for PSBs.

Finally, bank Cheif Bhattacharya has declined to comment on this and she hopes that her salary will be increased in the coming year.
