AP Textile Federation calls a National bandh against GST

Vijayawada, June 25: The Andhra Pradesh Trade Federation President Busireddy Malleswara Reddy has called a national bandh against GST from June 27 to 29 here on Saturday.

Textile traders decided to observe trade bandh in all 13 districts of the State from June 27 to 29 in protest against GST.

Textile traders under the banner of Andhra Pradesh Textile Federation have been waging a war for the last three weeks against the Central and state governments on GST.

Textile traders all over India decided to stage protests for three days from June 27, as part of their stir after holding discussions in Delhi on June 22 and 23. The textile traders are saying GST would be a burden on the customers and hamper the business of traders.



APTF president Busireddy Malleswara Reddy speaking to reporters at the Krishnaveni cloth market here on Saturday announced that the traders would close the shops three days from June 27 and protest at their shops with black flags on June 30.

He said the traders have been asking the government to collect GST at the manufacturing level.

He said if the GST is collected from retailers, the retail trade will be severely affected and lakhs of families depending on textile trade in the state would suffer.

He said textile traders are fighting against the GST at the national level under the banner of Textile Sangharshana Samiti based at Gujarat.

APTF leaders V Ramachandra Rao, B Prasad, Chintalapudi Raghuram, P Ramesh, P Bheema Rao and others were present.
