AP CM to launch the Amaravati Declaration: Kodela

Amaravati, June 24: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao has announced at Secretariat here on Friday, The AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be launched the 'Amaravati Declaration' in the next month.

While addressing a press conference at Velagapudi here, he said the declaration was being composed based on inputs taken from the recent 'National Women's Parliament-2017'.

He said the declaration would act like a guiding light all the State governments in India and would focus mainly on 10 thematic areas. He said the Chief Minister had formed an editorial team for finalizing the declaration which was in its final stages.

The proposed declaration would focus on 10 themes pertaining to the welfare of women.

The topics include:

1. Women's education for all girls up to the age of 18 years.

2. Women's legal rights covering gender sensitisation to begin at the school level with extensive campaigns.

3. Health and nutrition.

4. Women's entrepreneurship.

5. The role of women in research and innovation.

6. Making them aware of their legal and political rights.

7. Social protection for women.

8. The role of women in sustainable development goals.

9. Social development so as to given a boost to them for participating in the decision making process and lastly making women digitally literate in the global digital economy and help them become a part of shaping a technologically empowered society.

The declaration will also focus on the involvement of stakeholders from the governments, corporates, and NGOs for facilitating women's digital literacy towards social inclusion, employment, and governance.
