Swine flu spreading in Mumbai, 10 people die in 6 months

Mumbai June 24: Swine Flu killed three more patients in Mumbai. With this, the number of people killed in the disease this year has increased to 10. A senior official of the civic body said that three deaths were caused due to airborne illness last week. Due to infection in Mumbai, 10 people have died since January 1.

He said that with the onset of monsoon, the Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika (BMC) is focusing on curbing the spread of this disease. According to a statement by BMC, this year 285 cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the city. It has been said in the statement that temperature fluctuations and moisture in the air are favorable for the spread of swine flu.

Therefore, people are advised to take preventive measures. Swine flu is a respiratory disease in which a person may have symptoms of fever, cough, throat pain, nasal bleeding, body aches, and exhaustion.

Kerala death of 23 people due to swine flu

in Kerala this year, killing 23 people with swine flu. More cases of H1N1 infection were recorded than last year. An official of the health department said that 300-400 cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the entire state and 23 of them have died. State Nodal Officer for H1N1, Amar Fettal said that this year only cases of swine flu have not been increased in Kerala but have happened in entire South India.

They said that there is nothing to panic. Necessary steps have been taken to prevent the spread of the flu. All government hospitals including primary health centers have adequate medicines and guidelines have been issued regarding treatment. Amar said, "27 percent samples of throat resin of affected people this year have been tested positive for H1N1."
