ICC approves Use of DRS in T20s

London, June 24: New rules were approved by an organization yesterday. The International Cricket Council (ICC) chief executives committee has given its nod for the recommendations made by the ICC Cricket Committee. The changes will be enforced from October 1, 2017.

The new rules which will be enforced are
* Cricket teams will not lose a review umpire's call verdicts under the DRS.
* Minimum standards for the use of DRS for international cricket have been approved
* Mandatory use of accredited ball tracking and edge detection technology for reviewing a decision.
* DRS will also be applicable in T20I format.
* Punishments for on-field misconduct: Umpires will now have the power to send players off the field
for serious incidents of misconducts such as threatening an umpire, physically assaulting another
player, official or spectator, and any other act of violence on the field.

* Run-out rule change: Batsmen will be given not out if the bat bounces after he made the bat grounded
behind the crease.

Finally, the players are happy because the DRS system is revamped and there would be no fault decisions which can affect the games.
