Telangana, Karimangar June 24: The Govt has been said yesterday 30 new smart cities in the country, in that Telugu States bags two smart cities, i.e Karimnagar from Telangana State and Amaravati from Andhra Pradesh respectively.

from this perspective, Irrigation Development Corporation Chairman Shankar Reddy thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for striving hard to get smart city status for Karimnagar.

Karimnagar Local MP B Vinod Kumar had also played a vital role in moving things at the Central level.

He also praised Karimnagar Municipal Corporation authorities for preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for developing Karimnagar as a smart city in 2,300 square meters radius with Rs 1,000 crore.

Round-the-clock water supply, shelters for laborers, tourism infrastructure, parks, Manair riverfront development, transportation, underground electric line, LED and solar lights, foot over bridge, smart parking places, development of heritage structure and others will be taken up under smart city program.

Setting aside norms, smart city status was provided to KMC and it was materialized only because of the Chief Minister and MP, said Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma.



KMC will get Rs 200 crore every year and Rs 1,000 crore in the next five years as part of the project.
