High Court nod to SBI

Hyderabad June 24: The joint High Court decision on lifting the preliminary orders issued by the SBI Corporation of Mumbai, SGM and SBI MD (AF) Justice Justice M. Ramachandra Rao issued the order on Friday. The bank has provided flexibility to consult with SBI in dealing with terminal benefits and special balance sheets.

The judge was closing the cases filed by associations of officers and individuals from associated banks. It may be recalled that the State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Bikaneer and Jaipur, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiyala, and State Bank of Travencore were merged with the SBI.

SBI's corporate body, CMG, challenged the issuance of the letter on March 29 this year, seeking clarification on the terms of service conditions. The bank employees, along with the chief executive of the subsidiary affiliates of the bank, approached the High Court in April this year.

The judge, who was the judge of the case, was issued an interim order on April 13, not to finalize its options until June 15. The petition was filed by SBI local head office in Hyderabad seeking to lift the order.

Taking into consideration the options and requesting to facilitate the process of dealing with the employees' seniority and other processes. The judge, who took into consideration those arguments, issued directions to lift the interim orders of the past.

On Friday, Justice Ramachandra Rao observed that the associations should give their charter of demands within two weeks and the management of SBI should constitute a committee and negotiate the issues. If the officers were not satisfied with the decision of the SBI, they could challenge the same.
