ACB raids on AP officials in two districts

Vishakapatnam, June 23: The ACB officials have conducted raids on two officials in two separate cases for demanding bribes on Thursday in two districts.

He stated that in the two cases, the accused officials were caught red-handedly and cases were booked against them.

He said that N Venkateswara Rao, executive officer at Baligattam Group of Temples, Narsipatnam in Visakhapatnam district was caught red-handed by the ACB officials in his office while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant D Eswara Rao, Gosala Warder.

The accused officer demanded a bribe for enhancing remuneration to Rs 6,000 per month for the maintenance of Gosala and to issue a cheque worth Rs 16,000 towards pending remuneration of the complainant, explained the ACB DG.

In another case from Guntur district, Basheer, Junior Assistant at District Registrar, Stamps and Registration Department was caught red-handed.

The Complainant B Adarsh Reddy of Navuluru village in Guntur district has applied in Meeseva regarding the registration of a firm in the name of M/s Delta Services for doing seeds business. The complainant met with the concerned clerk Basheer.

The clerk verified the documents of the complainant and demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 to process the file to the District Registrar.

As per citizen chart the work of the complainant should be completed within 3 days, but so far the work was not completed, informed the ACB officials.
