AP CM launched CELKON Plant in Tirupati

Tirupati, June 22: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has inaugurated a 'Celkon', a mobile manufacturing center, which is set up near Tirupati here on Thursday.

This is the first plant established in Sri Venkateswara Mobile, Electronics Manufacturing Hub at Renigunta Airport. It was designed to produce 72,000 mobiles per day.They also manufacture the Basic Mobiles, Smartphones and Tablet PCs.

In the coming days, LED TVs and CCTV cameras will be manufactured, said Celkon company founder Y.Guru to the media on Wednesday.

In the first phase, They are going to spend 150 crores for the plant. Directly and indirectly, the plant will provide employment for approximately 4,000 people through the plant.

The Celkon has dealt with AP govt and Sri Venkateswara Mobile and Electronics Manufacturing Hub for the plant establishment on 15th September 2015.

The company already operates a manufacturing center at Medchal near Hyderabad.
