Man held for assaulting woman

Hyderabad June 22: The police officials have been arrested a person for allegedly sexually assaulting a 34-year-old woman, here on Wednesday.

According to the police, The suspect, Komarshetty Girish (27) a native of Anantapur, came in contact with the victim last November.

In-depth into the matter, He used to frequently visit the victim’s house, located under LB Nagar police station limits, on the pretext of obtaining her signatures for surety papers.

The police said that Girish had managed to obtain objectionable pictures of the victim. "He had mixed sleeping tablets in a cool drink and made her to drink. Later he took her pictures," police said, adding that “he also sexually assaulted her".

After a while, the suspect started blackmailing the woman by threatening to upload her pictures on social media websites. Police said that Girish managed to take the woman to his native Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh where he confined her in a room.

Later, the woman managed to lodge complaint based on which the police registered a case and a special team was deployed to nab the suspect.
