Hyderabad June 22: The Central Administrative Tribunal(CAT) has given notice to Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) asking it to state its stand on a petition filed by IAS officer Anita Rajendra who is currently serving Telangana state as its home secretary, here on Wednesday.

The bench granted four weeks to UPSC to file its counter affidavit in the case where the officer was seeking rectification of anomalies in her seniority.

The tribunal would resume hearing on the matter in July.

According to Anita's counsel Mohammad Shafiquzzaman, she joined the AP state service in December 1990 after being selected as a group one officer.

Later she was placed under suspension charging her with negligence on February 5, 1997. She was a revenue divisional officer in Visakhapatnam district and her alleged role in the infamous Yeleru scam was shown as a reason for the suspension. later following orders from AP administrative tribunal, she was reinstated into service in June 1999.

Though the state treated her suspension period as 'on duty', it did not rectify the anomalies that arose on account of her suspension. While her juniors were conferred IAS from the panel year 2000, she was shown as an officer belonging to 2002 panel year.
