Malaysian firm interested in Secunderabad station for redevelop

New Delhi June 22: Here is the good news for the Hyderabad lovers, as the Secunderabad railway junction could be redeveloped by a Malaysian firm.

Speaking with media from Delhi, Director General (PR) Anil Saxena of the railway board confirmed that Malaysia-based Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) has shown an interest in bidding to redevelop six Indian railway stations, including Secunderabad.

With the bidding process for the first phase of the center's station re-development plan slated to take place in August, the company officials are expected to visit Pune, Saxena added."

They have shown an interest in Pune and they will have to prepare the bidding documents now. The first phase of bidding is expected to take place in August and before the bidding they are expected to carry out site surveys, measurement of the area and so on.

For this, their team is expected to visit all five stations, including Pune," the senior official said.It has been said that the estimated cost of re-development of the stations, which includes Pune, Udaipur, Howrah, Indore, Secunderabad, and Faridabad , is Rs5,000 core.
