Teachers protested at DEO offices across the State

Vijayawada, June 22: The Hundreds of teachers ate staged a protest at the District Educational Offices across the state here on Wednesday, were arrested and taken to Chillakalapudi police station.

In all, 500 teachers were arrested which include 200 women teachers, who were demanding the cancellation of teachers' transfers and closing of government schools.



The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Teachers Organisation (FAPTO) and Joint Action Committee of Teachers Organisation (JACTO) laid siege to the district education offices at all the 13 districts in the state.

They protested against the government over teachers' transfers and closing of government schools.

All the teachers' unions demanded cancellation of web counseling and performance points along with the closing of government schools.
